Artwork specifications

To create and print custom signage, the artwork must be drawn in a graphic design program which is suitable for large format printing. You can supply your own print ready artwork or we can help prepare your design idea for printing. Contact us for any questions or more information on artwork or designs.

Using your supplied artwork

If you will be supplying your own artwork design, it must be supplied to us in a print ready format.

Print ready artwork guidelines:

  • File types; vectorised EPS or outlined PDF
  • All fonts converted to outlines/curves
  • Drawn to the finished sign size
  • Colours in CMYK (convert Pantone colours to CMYK)
Using your supplied artwork

Design tips when preparing your artwork:

  • Remember to include radius (rounded) corners on your artwork to avoid sharp edges on rigid substrates, such as Aluminium signs – contact us for more information about radius sizes before preparing your design.

  • Remember to keep your design away from fixing points eg: corner screw holes, centre bolt holes or corner eyelets.

  • Remember to create your design at a suitable finished sign size based on the viewing distance, our common sign sizes are 300x225mm, 450x300mm, 600x450mm and 900x600mm, otherwise we can make any size you need.

  • Always use the specified colours, symbols and fonts for safety signs or road signs in line with the relevant Australian Standards or Road Authority specifications.

  • You are responsible for your design, it is very important that you double and triple check your final design for errors before sending it for printing!

If you will be supplying your logo for us to print as a sign, vector format in CMYK is our preferred file type (see Print ready artwork guidelines above). If you do not have your logo in vector format, please send us the highest quality version you have in any format and we will check if it will be suitable for printing at your required size (some artwork files may become pixelated when the size is increased). If your logo file is not suitable, we will send you a quote for drawing time to prepare the logo for large format printing.

Need help with your design?

If you are unable to send us your print ready artwork, we can help prepare your design idea into a professional looking sign under your instruction.
