What material are your school signs made from?

We offer a number of different sign materials for school signage. All are suitable for indoor or outdoor use. School signage is printed on a high-quality vinyl sign face, which is laminated with a UV protective film. We also offer an optional class 1 reflective background, which is mainly used for traffic signs.

Our school safety, parking, toilet, and block signs are made from the following materials:

  • Solid 1.6mm aluminium – This is the strongest and best material we recommend for strength and durability. It’s impact-resistant to a point. Solid aluminium is also recyclable.
  • 3mm aluminium composite panel (ACP) – ACP is a cheaper option. It comprises a ‘sandwich panel’ made of thin aluminium skins and a polyethylene core. We don’t supply ACP signs to many schools these days because it is a combustible material. However, we still offer it as an option. Ask us for more information.
  • 5mm Corflute – An effective, lightweight material ideal for classroom signs or temporary exterior signs, optional corner eyelets are available with Corflute signs.
  • Stickers – Peel and stick, printed or vinyl cut to any shape you need.

Our school essential signs are made from the following materials:

  • Exams in progress – Metal sign with a vinyl sign face. Swing stand frame is galvanised and powder-coated yellow.
  • Novelty cheques – 5mm white Corflute, printed vinyl sign face with a whiteboard marker-friendly laminate allowing you to write, wipe and reuse.
  • Lectern signs – 6mm laser cut acrylic with a vinyl sign face.
