Why do some signs have bracing?
Sign bracing is used to increase stability and rigidity of flat signs. Sign bracing is required for certain road signs, due to their larger size. Some smaller signs also have bracing added to improve stability in windy areas. Sign bracing is attached horizontally to the back of signs, allowing for install with multiple posts as required. These special Bracing Brackets attach the sign to a 60mm outside diameter post. Sign Bracing can also be purchased in 3.2 metre lengths or cut to size. Sign Posts are sold separately.
How to install Bracing Brackets
The bolt head and slotted end of the bracket are inserted separately into the bracing channel. Once the sign and bracket are lined up to the correct position with the post, the bolt is inserted through the bracket hole and tightened around the post with the nut. The same installation process is repeated at all fixing points. A common spanner, shifter or socket is used for installation.
Bracing Brackets are sold individually, the quantity of brackets required will be determined by the number of sign braces multiplied by the number of posts. Eg 1x sign with 3x braces installed on 2x posts will need 6x brackets. We will help work out how many brackets you need.
Tip. Always follow proper safety procedures when installing signs to prevent accidents and injuries.
