Disabled Parking Stencil is made to Australian Standard AS2890.6:2022. Each disabled parking bay should be identified with a white wheelchair symbol on a blue square. The symbol of access should be in accordance with AS1428.1 with a wheelchair symbol between 800-1000mm. The stencil should be placed in the centre of the parking bay (pavement marking) between 500-600mm from the entry point.

How do you paint a Disabled Parking Stencil?

Step 1. Clean, measure and mark area for paint using appropriate PPE and safety measures.
Step 2. Place stencil and mask around the outer square with tape, lift off stencil and paint the blue square then allow it to dry.
Step 3. Place the stencil over the painted blue box and paint the wheelchair symbol in white and allow it to dry.
Step 4. Lift off the stencil and remove the masking tape.

  • Outer blue square is 1200x1200mm
  • Wheelchair symbol is 900mm wide x 985mm high

Disabled parking stencils are used for marking and painting of designated mobility and disability parking bays with the blue and white wheelchair template which is also known as the ISA or International Symbol of Access. The size of our stencil and wheelchair template is in accordance with Australian Standard AS2890.6:2022 which specifies the minimum requirements for the provision of off-street parking facilities for people with disabilities.
